The Secret My Deceased First Love Kept Walked Into My Wedding Cathedral
An Unexpected Guest at the Altar
The sunlit Gothic cathedral was a masterpiece of hazy golden hour light, casting warm beams across the hundreds of guests gathered to watch Daniel and Sarah say their vows. Sarah looked radiant in her designer silk gown, her eyes locked onto Daniel as the priest began the ceremony. Everything was proceeding exactly as planned, a picture-perfect culmination of a high-society romance. Daniel, dressed in a modern black suit, felt a swell of pride. He was marrying into one of the city's most prominent families, securing a future of luxury and status.
Suddenly, the heavy oak doors at the back of the cathedral creaked open. The soft murmur of the organ music faltered as a small, dusty figure stepped into the sanctuary. It was an eight-year-old boy, barefoot and dressed in tattered, muddy clothes. He looked completely out of place amid the elegant floral arrangements and dressed-up guests. Whispers rippled through the pews like wildfire as the child began to run down the aisle, his eyes locked onto Daniel.
"What is this?"
Daniel asked, his voice filled with confusion as he stepped forward, waving off the security guards who were rushing to intercept the child. The boy stopped right in front of the altar, chest heaving, and looked up at Daniel with large, soulful green eyes that felt hauntingly familiar.
"I need to show you something,"
the boy whispered. With trembling hands, he reached into his pocket and presented a silver bracelet. Daniel’s breath hitched. Engraved on the polished surface were the words: "For my son - Daniel."
"No..."
Daniel whispered, his face turning pale. The boy looked up, tears streaking his dusty cheeks.
"My mom kept it for me. She gave it to me before she died. She said you left us the day I was born."
