Previously: When Clara and Julian staged a shocking fall for her wealthy grandmother, they thought it was a harmless video prank. But Evelyn saw through their cruel game and prepared a devastating counterstrike.

The moment Julian reached over and clicked the camera off, the laughter vanished instantly. The warmth in the foyer died, replaced by a suffocating, clinical silence. Clara didn't offer a hand to help her grandmother up. Instead, she stepped over Evelyn's prone body, smoothing down her black cocktail dress with cold indifference.

"Perfect," Julian muttered, reviewing the footage on the small digital screen. "The lawyers will look at this and see a woman who can’t even sit in a wheelchair without tipping over. We’ll have the power of attorney signed by Monday."

Evelyn slowly pushed herself up from the cold marble floor. The laughter was gone from her eyes, replaced by a sharp, icy glare that her granddaughter had never seen before. She didn't need the wheelchair; she had been using it only because Clara insisted it was necessary for her "weak heart." In truth, Evelyn’s mind and body were as sharp as ever, a fact she had carefully hidden from her greedy relatives.

"Do you really think a cheap video will be enough to lock me away, Clara?" Evelyn asked, her voice steady and devoid of the frailty she usually feigned.

Clara scoffed, pouring herself a glass of amber liquid from the nearby bar cart. "Grandma, please. You’re seventy-eight. The courts will believe whatever we tell them, especially when we show them how 'clumsy' you’ve become. You've had a good run, but Julian and I deserve this house. We deserve your wealth."

Julian chuckled, stepping closer to Evelyn. "Just sign the transfer documents quietly, Evelyn. Don't make this harder than it needs to be. We've recorded months of your 'accidents.' No judge in this state will rule in your favor."

Evelyn stood at her full height, dusting off her clothes. She looked at the young couple, her expression transforming from victim to predator.

"You two are incredibly foolish," she whispered. "You spent so much time focusing on your camera that you completely forgot to look at mine."
