An Unlikely Ally
Suddenly, the double stainless steel service doors burst open. In strode Silas, a 34-year-old decorated veteran, his tall, athletic frame moving with rigid military precision. His buzz cut framed a chiseled jaw, and his fitted charcoal field jacket did little to hide the sleek, matte-black carbon-fiber prosthetic arm that gleamed under the overhead lights. His piercing eyes, however, blazed with a fury that eclipsed the kitchen's fiery intensity.
Silas: "Drop that pole and stand down right now, Officer!"
Silas's voice, a thunderous command honed by years of Delta Force operations, boomed through the kitchen, shaking the very foundations of the room. Henderson whipped around, his smug smirk vanishing, replaced by frozen astonishment. He recognized Silas, the soldier who had lost an arm serving his country.
Silas: "That is Sergeant Major Rex, a decorated combat hero who saved fifty-four soldiers overseas!"
Silas stepped squarely into Henderson's personal space, his movements deliberate. He flashed a gold military commendation badge, its gleam mirroring the tarnished insignia pinned to the dog's harness. His throat muscles tightened with righteous indignation as he spoke, his voice trembling with fierce, emotional conviction. Henderson swallowed hard, his face paling as he took a hesitant step backward. The weight of Silas’s words, the undeniable truth of Rex's service, seemed to crush his aggressive facade.
