Previously: When Clara walked into a smoky roadside tavern looking for answers about her husband's disappearance twenty years ago, she didn't expect a vintage leather vest to change everything.

The Secret of the Iron Phantoms

Butch grabbed Clara's arm, his grip surprisingly gentle but urgent, and guided her toward a secluded booth in the dark corner of the tavern. His tough exterior had completely shattered, replaced by a frantic anxiety. He kept his eyes glued to the front entrance, his chest rising and falling rapidly. "Do you have any idea what you are holding, Clara?" he whispered, using her name for the first time.

Clara clutched the lapels of the vintage vest.

"It was Tommy's. He told me to keep it safe. Why did he disappear, Butch? What happened that night?"

Butch leaned over the sticky wooden table, his voice barely audible over the hum of the old jukebox. He explained that twenty years ago, a violent faction within the Iron Phantoms had staged a mutiny. They wanted to turn the club into a criminal enterprise, but Tommy, as the founder, refused. Tommy had hidden the club's legal deeds and original treasury documents inside a secret compartment within the lining of his founder's vest. "He fled to protect you," Butch revealed. "He knew they would target you to get to the vest. He sacrificed his life on the road so they would chase him, not you."

Before Clara could process the devastating truth, the heavy wooden doors of the tavern were kicked open. Three imposing men dressed in matching black leather jackets stepped inside. The atmosphere in the room instantly turned hostile. The leader of the trio, a scarred man named Marcus, scanned the room until his eyes locked onto Clara's booth. Butch's face went completely pale.

"It's them," Butch hissed, his hand reaching for a pocket knife beneath the table. "They've been looking for that vest for two decades. You need to run, Clara."
