Previously: When a wealthy businessman recognizes a frail waitress in a high-end restaurant, a long-forgotten memory from a rainy alleyway changes their lives forever in an unexpected, emotional reunion.

The Confrontation

Before Charles could finish his sentence, a sharp, abrasive voice cut through the emotional air. "What is going on here?" snapped Julian, the arrogant regional manager, marching over with a scowl. He looked at Beatrice holding the luxury car keys, his eyes narrowing in instant suspicion.

"Beatrice! Did you steal those keys from this gentleman?" Julian demanded, grabbing her arm roughly. "I knew hiring an old, incompetent woman was a mistake. Give those back immediately!"

Beatrice gasped, tears streaming down her face. "No, Julian, I swear! He gave them to me!" she sobbed, her fragile frame shaking under his harsh grip.

Julian sneered, turning to Charles with an oily, apologetic smile. "I am deeply sorry, sir. This woman is desperate. She's been begging for advances to pay for her sick grandson's medical treatments. I will have security throw her out and call the police."

Charles felt a cold, dangerous fury wash over him. He stepped between Julian and Beatrice, forcing the manager to release her. "Take your hands off her," Charles commanded, his voice deadly quiet.

"Sir, you don't understand, she is a liability," Julian argued, waving over two large security guards. "I run this establishment, and I will not tolerate thieves or disruptive guests. Guards, escort them both out of my restaurant!"

The guards hesitated, looking at Charles’s expensive tuxedo, but Julian barked the order again. Beatrice clutched the keys to her chest, terrified of losing her livelihood. She looked at Charles with pleading eyes, convinced that her life was about to fall apart completely.

But Charles merely smiled—a cold, confident smile that made Julian's smug grin falter. Charles pulled a sleek black smartphone from his pocket. "You think you run this place, Julian? You have no idea who you are talking to."
