Previously: When Thomas returned home early, he expected a quiet evening. Instead, he found his daughter Clara sobbing on the floor in a maid's uniform, while his new wife watched with cold satisfaction.

A Father's Justice

Evelyn realized she had lost her leverage. Her expression shifted from panic to a cold, mocking sneer.

"Fine!"
she spat, dropping all pretenses of the loving wife.
"She doesn't belong in this house, Thomas. She is a constant reminder of your past. If we are going to build a life together, she needs to know her place. Besides, you signed the prenuptial agreement. Half of this estate is mine now, and there is nothing you can do about it!"

A bitter, humorless smile touched Thomas's lips. He walked over to Clara, gently helping her up from the cold travertine floor. He wrapped his suit jacket around her shivering shoulders and looked back at Evelyn.

"You should have read the fine print of that agreement more carefully, Evelyn,"
Thomas said calmly.
"The Sterling estate, including this manor and all of my assets, was placed into an irrevocable trust for Clara's benefit years ago. I am merely the trustee. I own nothing in my own name. You married a man with zero personal wealth."

Evelyn gasped, her eyes widening in sheer horror as the reality of her situation sank in. She had spent months plotting, manipulating, and torturing an innocent girl, all for a fortune she would never touch.

"No... that can't be true!"
she shrieked, but Thomas was already pulling out his phone to call security.

Within an hour, Evelyn was escorted from the property with nothing but the gold dress on her back. Sitting in the quiet warmth of the living room, Thomas held Clara close, begging for her forgiveness for not seeing through Evelyn’s facade sooner. Clara smiled through her tears, knowing that the nightmare was finally over. True family is defined by protection and love, and no amount of wealth can ever replace the bond between a father and his child.
