Victor laughed, a dry, mocking sound that did nothing to hide the sudden tension in his shoulders. He didn't recognize Harrison, or perhaps he simply didn't care. To Victor, anyone associated with a common mechanic couldn't possibly pose a threat to his own multi-million-dollar real estate empire.
"Your son?"Victor scoffed, crossing his arms.
"I don't care who his father is. He's a low-life mechanic who thinks he can trick my daughter into a life of poverty. If you want to defend him, you can buy him a better lawyer, because I'll have him locked up if he ever comes near Chloe again."

"Marcus. Cancel the corporate acquisition of the Sterling Group. Yes, effective immediately. And pull all our capital from their commercial developments,"Harrison said, his voice steady and absolute. He ended the call and slipped the phone back into his pocket.
Victor’s smug smile froze. The Sterling Group was his company, and they were currently in the final stages of a massive merger that was supposed to save his business from impending bankruptcy. "Who... who are you?" Victor stammered, his bravado instantly vanishing as a cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
