Previously: When a smug billionaire assaulted a humble mechanic to stop him from dating his daughter, he had no idea the boy's father was the most powerful man in the city.

The Price of Pride

Just as Victor began to plead for his livelihood, the garage doors opened again. Chloe, Victor’s daughter, rushed in, having followed her father after a heated argument at home. She took one look at the scene—her father on his knees, Harrison standing like an angry judge, and Toby with a dark red welt swelling on his neck. Tears welled in her eyes as the truth became instantly clear.

"Dad, what did you do?"

Chloe whispered, rushing to Toby’s side. She gently touched his bruised neck, her eyes filled with deep remorse and love.

"I told you to stay away from him, Chloe! He's a nobody!"

Victor yelled desperately, still trying to salvage some semblance of control. But Chloe looked at her father with nothing but disappointment.

"Toby is worth more than all your money combined,"

she said softly. Harrison watched the young couple, his stern expression softening slightly. He realized that Chloe truly loved his son for who he was, not for the family fortune she had known nothing about until this very moment.

Harrison looked down at the defeated Victor.

"You are banned from this property, and by tomorrow morning, your company will be bankrupt. Leave now before I have the police arrest you for assault,"

Harrison warned. Victor, utterly broken, scrambled to his feet and fled the garage in disgrace.

Toby smiled at Chloe, holding her hand tightly. He turned to his father and thanked him for stepping in. Harrison patted his son on the shoulder, proud of the man Toby had become.

Toby went back to work that afternoon, but this time, he wasn't just a mechanic—he was a man who had proven that true character and love always triumph over arrogance and greed. In the end, true wealth is never measured by the size of your wallet, but by the depth of your integrity and the love you hold in your heart.
