Previously: When Edward struck his wheelchair-bound daughter Megan aboard their luxury yacht, Officer Harris didn't hesitate to step in, uncovering a dark family secret hidden beneath the waves.

The Conspiracy Unveiled

Edward gasped for air, clutching his chest as he glared up at Officer Harris. His sophisticated demeanor had completely shattered, replaced by the ugly rage of a man accustomed to getting his way. "Do you have any idea who I am?" Edward spat, coughing as he struggled to sit up. "I will have your badge for this! You are on my private property!"

Officer Harris didn't back down. He kept his body positioned between the trembling Megan and her furious father. "I don't care how much money you have, sir," Harris replied, his voice deadly calm. "You just assaulted a decorated military officer in broad daylight. You are under arrest."

Megan, trembling in her wheelchair, finally spoke. Her voice was raspy, but it carried a weight that silenced both men. "He didn't want me to come home, Officer," she whispered, her eyes fixed on her father with a mixture of grief and disgust. "He never wanted me to survive the explosion."

Harris frowned, looking between the father and daughter. "What do you mean, Megan?"

With shaking hands, Megan pulled a folded, sweat-stained document from the pocket of her military fatigues. She explained that before her deployment, her late mother had left her a multi-million-dollar trust fund, which Edward managed. While overseas, Megan discovered that Edward had been systematically draining the account to fund his failing shipping empire and his lavish lifestyle, including the very yacht they stood on.

"When I confronted him over satellite phone, he panicked," Megan revealed, tears streaming down her face. "A week later, my transport vehicle was sabotaged. I survived, but my squad leader didn't. I thought it was an enemy attack, but I found the maintenance records. The local contractor who serviced our vehicle was paid off by a shell company owned by my father."

Edward’s face drained of color. He scrambled to his feet, shouting frantically, "She's delusional! She's suffering from severe post-traumatic stress! You can't believe a word she says!"
