The sweet, buttery aroma of fresh croissants and vanilla glaze filled the air of the upscale patisserie, making ten-year-old Toby's stomach growl fiercely. He tightened his grip on his toddler sister, Mia, who was shivering despite the warmth of the shop. Toby's face was smudged with dust, his oversized jacket worn thin at the elbows. Mia sobbed softly, her tiny tears leaving clean streaks on her dirty cheeks. They hadn't eaten a proper meal in two days, ever since their grandmother had been taken to the hospital.

Toby approached the polished marble counter, looking up at the pristine glass displays filled with expensive pastries. The young blonde clerk, Emily, looked down at them with an expression of immediate distaste. She adjusted her neat apron and crossed her arms, clearly wanting them out of her sight.

"Do you have any bread from yesterday that you sell for less?" Toby asked, his voice trembling but brave.

"We don't sell leftovers here," she replied coldly. "You need to leave before I call security."

Toby felt a lump form in his throat. Mia let out a loud, pathetic wail, her little fingers clutching Toby's ragged collar. Toby began to step back, his eyes stinging with tears of shame and defeat. But before he could turn around, a deep, commanding voice echoed from behind them.

"Pack everything," the voice ordered.

Emily gasped, her eyes widening in surprise as she looked past Toby. A distinguished older gentleman in a tailored charcoal grey suit stepped forward. His silver hair was perfectly coiffed, and his presence demanded absolute respect. Emily stuttered, her professional facade instantly crumbling.

"Sir?" she asked, bewildered.

"Everything," Charles repeated firmly, his gaze softening as he looked down at Toby and Mia. "Come with me."
