The wedding guests erupted into hushed whispers as David remained on his knees, holding the hand of the elderly maid. Marcus laughed nervously, looking around the room for support.

"Uncle David, have you lost your mind? She is a servant. My aunt died forty years ago in a ferry accident. This woman is just an impostor trying to steal your money!"

But David ignored his nephew entirely. His eyes were locked onto Elena's, searching the depths of her gaze. The familiarity was undeniable. "Elena, it is you," he wept, clutching her hand. "How is this possible? I searched for you for years. They told me you were gone."

She threatened to destroy your life if I ever returned to you. She paid off the hospital to declare me dead and forced me to run away."
