My Wealthy Son Tripped Me in the Hospital to Impress His Spiteful Wife
Previously: Eleanor only wanted to bring fresh apples to her new grandchild. Instead, her wealthy son Robert and his cruel wife Lauren humiliated her in the most public way possible.
The Cruelty Revealed
The pain in Eleanor's knees was nothing compared to the sharp ache in her chest. She lay on the cold floor, struggling to breathe, as tears blurred her vision. A passing nurse rushed forward to help her, but Robert quickly stepped between them, waving the nurse off with an arrogant flick of his wrist.
"She’s fine, just clumsy," Robert lied smoothly, his voice devoid of any warmth. "She was just leaving."
Lauren opened the glass door, holding the baby close, a smug sneer plastered across her face. "Honestly, Robert, your mother has no boundaries," she said, loud enough for the staff to hear. "Showing up here looking like a beggar. Look at this mess. You're embarrassing us in front of the chief of surgery."
Eleanor slowly pushed herself up, refusing the nurse's hand this time. She looked at her son, the boy she had worked three jobs to put through college, the boy who had promised to always take care of her. Now, he looked at her as if she were dirt beneath his expensive shoes. She wiped a tear from her cheek and looked down at the scattered apples. One of them had rolled near Robert's foot. Deep inside the torn paper bag, beneath the remaining fruit, was a thick, yellowed envelope.
Robert noticed the envelope and frowned. "What is that? More trash?" he snapped.
Eleanor reached down and picked up the envelope, holding it tightly. "This 'trash' is the deed to the property your new estate is built on, Robert," Eleanor said, her voice suddenly steady and strong. "And the trust fund your late father set up. I came here today to hand it over to you as a gift for my grandson. But now, I see exactly who you have become."
Lauren’s mocking smile instantly vanished, replaced by a look of sheer panic. Robert froze, his face turning pale as he stared at the document in his mother's hand.
