A Wealthy Tycoon Mocked His Poor Server Until the Boy Played a Familiar Melody
Previously: When a wealthy billionaire mocked a young server at a high-society gala, he never expected the boy to sit at the grand piano and play a melody that harbored a dark family secret.
The Confrontation
The final note of the melody hung in the air, leaving the ballroom in a breathless silence. Before anyone could applaud, Charles rushed forward, his composure completely shattered. He grabbed Thomas by the arm and practically dragged him into his private, wood-paneled study, slamming the heavy oak door behind them.
"Where did you learn that song?" Charles demanded, his voice shaking with a mixture of rage and panic. "Who are you?"
"My name is Thomas," the young man said, looking directly into the eyes of the man who had ruined his family. "My mother was Clara. You remember her, don't you, Charles? She was the genius who wrote that masterpiece. The masterpiece you stole and claimed as your own to build your empire."
Charles's eyes widened. For a moment, terror flickered in his gaze, but it was quickly replaced by a cold, calculating sneer. He walked behind his mahogany desk and pulled out a checkbook. "Your mother was a dreamer who didn't understand how the world works. I gave her music a platform. I made it famous. She was weak."
"She died in poverty because you blacklisted her!" Thomas shouted, his anger boiling over.
"And what are you going to do about it?" Charles hissed, leaning forward. "You're a penniless server. Nobody will believe you. I can buy your silence, or I can have you arrested for trespassing and ruin whatever miserable life you have left. Choose wisely, boy."
But Thomas merely smiled, pulling his phone from his pocket. "I don't need them to believe me, Charles. I just needed you to admit it. Before we came in here, I connected my phone to the ballroom's wireless AV system. Your confession was broadcasted live to every single guest, reporter, and investor out there."
Charles froze, his face draining of color as the muffled sounds of shocked murmurs and shouting from the ballroom began to filter through the heavy doors.
