Previously: When Margaret walked into the dangerous Iron Shadows clubhouse, she knew she was risking her life. But showing Rex her husband's vintage vest was only the first step in exposing a 25-year-old lie.

A Deadly Secret Revealed

The silence in the bar was absolute. The clatter of pool balls had stopped, and even the hum of the old refrigerator seemed to fade. Rex stared at the vintage founder's vest, a piece of club history that had vanished twenty-five years ago along with Thomas "Ghost" Vance. The club had branded Thomas a thief, claiming he had stolen their entire treasury before vanishing into the night. Rex had grown up hating the name of the man who had supposedly betrayed his brothers.

Before Rex could speak, a raspy voice cut through the silence from the back of the room.

"That vest belongs to a traitor's widow!"

Silas, the oldest living member of the Iron Shadows and the man who had raised Rex, stepped forward. His eyes were wild, his hand hovering near his waistband. Margaret turned to face him, her expression hardening.

"Thomas was never a traitor, Silas, and you know it,"

she said, her voice echoing in the tense room. She reached into her inner pocket and pulled out a yellowed, hand-written letter and a rusted safe deposit key.

"I found this stitched into the lining of the vest last week. It's Thomas's handwriting, detailing how you were selling out the club to the feds. He was going to expose you, so you had him killed and framed him for the theft."

Gasps rippled through the room. Rex looked from Margaret to the letter, his mind racing. He had worshipped Silas, but the evidence in Margaret's hand was undeniable. Silas's face turned pale, then contorted with rage.

"She's lying! Kill her and burn that trash!"

Silas screamed, pulling a revolver from his belt. But before he could aim at Margaret, Rex's massive frame stepped directly into the line of fire, shielding the widow.
