My Wife Refused to Feed My Son, So I Revealed Her Darkest Secret
Previously: When Lorna refused to feed young Leo, she didn't expect her husband Mark to walk in with a folder of DNA tests that would shatter her entire world.
The Secret in the Manila Envelope
For a long, agonizing moment, the only sound in the kitchen was the hum of the refrigerator. Lorna stared at Mark, her mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. She tried to force a laugh, a high-pitched, nervous sound that echoed hollowly off the tiled walls.
"Mark, darling, what on earth are you talking about?" Lorna stammered, taking a step toward him. "That is a sick joke. You're upset because of what I said to Leo. I was just... I was just stressed! I didn't mean it."
Mark didn't move. He reached into his leather briefcase and pulled out a thick manila envelope, tossing it onto the granite breakfast bar. It slid across the smooth surface, stopping right in front of her. Leo stood in the corner, watching his father with wide, confused eyes. Mark gently patted the boy's shoulder and whispered for him to go play in his room. Once Leo was safely upstairs, Mark turned his full, icy attention back to his wife.
"Open it," Mark commanded.
With trembling hands, Lorna opened the envelope and pulled out the documents. They were official DNA paternity test results for her three children—twelve-year-old Chloe, nine-year-old Toby, and six-year-old Lily. Next to Mark's name, the probability of paternity read exactly zero percent for all three.
The truth was devastating. Mark had recently undergone a routine medical screening for a potential kidney donation for his brother. The doctor had pointed out a genetic anomaly that made it biologically impossible for him to be the father of Lorna's children. Confused and deeply concerned, Mark had secretly ordered the home DNA tests. The results had arrived at his office that morning.
"You spent ten years treating my son Leo like garbage while I worked eighty hours a week to fund your lavish lifestyle and raise three children who aren't even mine," Mark said, his voice shaking with restrained emotion. "Who is he, Lorna? Or is it multiple men?"
Lorna collapsed onto a kitchen stool, tears of panic streaming down her face as her decade-long web of lies finally disintegrated.
