Previously: When smug young champion Luke mocked 68-year-old Martha at the shooting range, he expected an easy win. But one look at her registration card left the officials trembling in absolute shock.

A Lesson in Legacy

Desperate to salvage his pride, Luke tightened his grip on his custom-made pistol. The arrogance in his eyes had turned into a desperate, wild determination.

"If you're really the legend they say you are, prove it," Luke challenged, his voice cracking slightly. "One round. Sudden death. Let's see if 'The Iron Rose' still has her thorns, or if she's just a relic of the past."

The gallery held its collective breath. Arthur stepped forward to intervene, but Martha gently held up her hand, stopping him. She looked at Luke, her expression calm, almost maternal, yet incredibly fierce.

"I accept," Martha said. "But when I win, you will apologize not just to me, but to every elder in this room you've dismissed."

The target was set at the maximum distance. Luke went first. His hands were shaking slightly, the pressure clearly getting to him. He fired. It was a strong shot, landing just outside the dead center. It was a 9.8—an excellent score under pressure, and Luke let out a breath of relief, looking defiantly at Martha.

Martha stepped up to the line. She didn't use any fancy gear. She didn't wear a specialized vest. She simply closed her eyes for a brief second, whispered a quiet dedication to her late husband, and raised her pistol. Without a single tremor, she pulled the trigger once.

The bullet tore directly through the absolute dead center of the bullseye—a perfect 10.0.

The shooting range exploded into cheers. Spectators stood on their chairs, applauding the return of the champion. Luke stared at the target, utterly defeated. He slowly lowered his head, walked over to Martha, and bowed his head in genuine humility.

"I'm sorry, ma'am," Luke whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I have a lot to learn."

Martha placed a gentle, encouraging hand on his shoulder.

"Respect your elders, young man, and never underestimate the quiet strength of those who came before you," she replied with a warm smile.

Martha Vance had not only reclaimed her title that day; she had passed on a priceless lesson in humility, proving that true legends never truly fade.
