Without waiting for a response, Mariana turned her back on them and marched out of the high double doors. A waiting luxury sedan was idling in the driveway. "Ms. Mariana, the lawyers have activated all the clauses," the voice on the other end said, grave and ready.

Mariana stared out into the dark city skyline, her expression turning to stone.
