An Arrogant Businessman Assaulted My Mechanic Son, Unaware of Our Family Empire
Previously: When Marcus confronted a young mechanic for loving his daughter, he thought he was teaching a lesson. He had no idea the boy's father owned the entire city's elite class.
A Sudden Shift of Power
Marcus scoffed, crossing his arms over his expensive suit. He looked at Robert with utter disdain, completely failing to recognize the quiet authority radiating from the older man. "Do you honestly think you scare me?" Marcus sneered. "I don't care who you are. Your son is a low-life mechanic trying to climb his way into my family. I am Marcus Vance, and I have the power to ruin both of you with a single phone call."
Robert didn't blink. Instead, a cold, calculated smile played on his lips. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a sleek smartphone, dialing a number. "Cancel the Vance expansion project," Robert said into the receiver. "Pull every single dollar of our funding. Immediately."
Marcus laughed aloud. "What kind of game is this? You think you can pretend to be a big shot in a greasy garage?"
But the laughter died in Marcus's throat just seconds later when his own phone began to ring. He glanced at the screen. It was his chief financial officer. Frowning, Marcus answered. "What is it?" he snapped.
"Marcus, we have a catastrophic emergency," his CFO gasped, his voice trembling with panic. "The Sterling Group just pulled their entire multi-million dollar investment. The banks are calling in our loans, and our expansion is dead. We are going under unless we can get them back!"
Marcus felt the blood drain from his face. His eyes slowly drifted from his phone to Robert, who was calmly putting his phone back in his pocket. The Sterling Group was the most powerful investment firm in the state, owned by the elusive billionaire, Robert Sterling. Marcus had spent months begging for their backing, never once meeting the legendary founder in person. Until now.
"You..." Marcus whispered, his voice cracking as his arrogant facade began to crumble. "You're Robert Sterling?"
Robert stepped closer, his shadow falling over the trembling businessman. "And the boy you just assaulted is my only son and heir," Robert whispered coldly.
