Previously: When a battered twelve-year-old boy bursts into a gritty biker bar pleading for help, a hardened biker's life is turned upside down by a single name.

The Siege of the Rusty Anchor

The heavy iron bolts slid into place just as the headlights of three black SUVs swept across the dusty windows of the bar. Vance’s crew, a dozen hardened bikers who had seen their share of violence, didn't ask questions. When Vance gave an order, they moved. Shotguns were pumped, and handguns were drawn from waistbands. Vance dragged Carter behind the heavy mahogany bar, pushing him down onto the floorboards.

"Stay down, kid. No matter what you hear, you do not move,"
Vance ordered, his voice no longer gravelly, but sharp and commanding.

Outside, the purr of high-end engines died down, replaced by the ominous sound of heavy tactical boots crunching on gravel. Vance looked at the gold coin in his palm. Years ago, before he wore the leather cut of the Iron Phantoms, Vance had been part of a different world—a world of clean suits, high-end hotels, and blood contracts. He owed John Wick a debt that could never be repaid in cash. Protecting this boy wasn't just a choice; it was an absolute obligation sworn in blood.

Suddenly, the double doors shuddered under a massive blow. A voice boomed from a megaphone outside.

"We know the boy is inside. Deliver him to us, and the rest of you walk away. You have thirty seconds."
Vance sneered, stepping out from behind the bar. He looked at his men, who stood ready, their faces grim.
"We don't sell out family,"
Vance muttered. He turned to his lieutenant, Cole.
"Get the heavy gear from the back. If they want the boy, they're going to have to burn this place to the ground with us in it."
Before Cole could move, the front windows shattered into a million glittering shards as tear gas canisters bounced across the wooden floor, filling the room with blinding white smoke.
