But I was terrified. I didn't know if you'd hate me. I wanted to see what kind of man you had grown into before I disrupted your life."

Connor swallowed the lump in his throat, realizing that Vance's phone call had been to the investigator, confirming the search was finally over.

"I don't hate you,"

Connor said, a tear escaping down his cheek.

"And you don't have to buy your breakfast with a ring anymore. Let's get some coffee, Dad."
