My Boss Tried to Publicly Humiliate Me, Not Knowing My Father Was a General
Previously: When a corrupt contractor tried to publicly humiliate Lauren by shaving her head on a military base, he had no idea she was an undercover investigator—or who her father was.
A Daughter's Duty
Before Jason could even register the weight of the stolen pistol in his hand, Lauren’s military training kicked in. She didn't hesitate. Stepping inside his guard, she grabbed his wrist, twisting it upward to redirect the muzzle safely into the air. With a swift, practiced sweep of her leg, she threw Jason off balance, sending him crashing hard onto the dusty concrete pad.
The pistol clattered away, and within a second, three federal agents pinned Jason to the ground, securing his hands in heavy steel cuffs. The corrupt MPs who had aided him were quickly disarmed and led away in disgrace. Jason screamed curses, his face pressed into the dirt, but his reign of terror on the base was officially over.

General Vance stepped forward, looking down at his daughter. The stern, terrifying commander vanished, replaced by a proud and deeply relieved father. He reached out, gently touching the side of her head where her hair had been buzzed away.
"You did an outstanding job, Captain," he said, his voice softening. "But as your father, I almost lost my mind when I heard what they were doing to you."
"It was worth it, Dad," Lauren replied, offering a tired but victorious smile. "The smuggling ring is completely dismantled. We have all the evidence we need."
The General smiled proudly and raised his hand to his brow, offering his daughter a crisp, formal salute. Lauren stood tall and returned the salute, her heart swelling with pride. Her hair would grow back, but the honor of serving her country and bringing down a corrupt criminal would last a lifetime. In the end, justice proved that no amount of intimidation could ever break a true soldier's spirit.
