My Boyfriend Handed Me an Eviction Notice in Front of Our Friends
Previously: When Elena’s boyfriend handed her a eviction notice in front of all their friends, he thought he was getting rid of her. He had no idea what was actually inside.
The Tables Turn
Elena walked over to the island and laid the documents flat on the marble surface. She pointed a manicured finger at the bottom of the master lease, right where the corporate stamp of Oakridge Holdings sat alongside her own elegant signature.
"You might want to look at who actually owns this building, Liam," Elena said, her voice dripping with icy calm.
Liam’s smirk vanished. He leaned forward, squinting at the paper. As his eyes scanned the signature line, the color completely drained from his face. The friends in the room, sensing a shift in the wind, crowded closer to look.
"What is this?" Marcus, one of Liam's oldest friends, whispered in shock. "Elena, your name is on the deed?"
Elena nodded, keeping her eyes locked on Liam. "Yes. This apartment belongs to my family's trust. Liam, you aren't the tenant who has the right to evict me. You are a sub-tenant who has been paying rent to my trust. And since you've officially declared your desire to terminate our living arrangement, I am more than happy to accept."
Liam stammered, dropping his glass onto the counter with a loud clink. "Elena, wait. Let's talk about this privately. I didn't know—we can work this out!"
But the time for negotiation was long gone. Elena stood tall, the auburn waves of her hair framing a face of absolute resolve.
"No, Liam. You wanted to humiliate me in front of everyone. But the truth is, you were only tolerated in my building because I loved you. Now that the love is gone, you have twenty-four hours to pack your things."
The silence in the room was absolute. The friends who had stood by awkwardly suddenly turned their backs on Liam, realizing the depth of his arrogance and deceit. Within a day, Liam was forced to pack his bags under the watchful eye of a security guard, leaving behind the luxury life he had tried so desperately to steal.
Elena stood alone in her bright, peaceful kitchen, holding a warm cup of tea. She was finally free of a man who only valued her when he thought he held the power. Sometimes, the people who try to lock you out of your own life are the ones who don't even realize they are standing on your doorstep.
