My Cruel Fiancée Made My Sister Scrub Floors, So I Stripped Her of Everything
Previously: When Peter returned home early to find his snobbish fiancée forcing his long-lost sister to scrub the marble floors, he decided to teach her a lesson she would never forget.
Unmasking the Monster
The silence in the atrium was deafening. Rose looked up, tears streaming down her dusty cheeks, staring at Peter in disbelief. For ten years, she had been told by her cruel guardians that her brother had abandoned her. She had ended up working for a wealthy domestic agency, completely unaware that the man who had bought this mansion was her own flesh and blood.
Penelope stepped forward, her voice high-pitched and defensive. "Peter, you are overreacting! She’s just a clumsy maid who ruined my expensive rugs. Why are you acting like this over some street girl?"
Peter ignored his fiancée entirely. He dropped his attaché case, walked past her, and knelt directly into the dirty water on the floor. He gently took Rose's raw hands in his. "Rose, it’s me. I’ve been looking for you for so long," he whispered, his voice cracking with emotion. Rose let out a sob and threw her arms around his neck. The realization hit Penelope like a physical blow. She staggered back, her wine glass slipping from her fingers and shattering on the marble floor.
"Your sister?" Penelope stammered, her face turning a sickly shade of white. "But... she was just hired from the agency. I had no idea!"
Peter stood up, shielding his sister behind him. "You didn't know she was my sister, but you knew she was a human being. And this is how you treat people?" he spat. Penelope, realizing she was losing her grip on Peter's massive fortune, quickly tried a different tactic. She crossed her arms, a desperate, ugly sneer returning to her face.
"You can't just throw me out, Peter," Penelope hissed. "We signed a prenuptial agreement. If you call off the wedding, I get this mansion and half of your assets. My father's lawyers will ruin you if you try to break it."
Peter looked at her, his anger suddenly cooling into a dangerous, calculated calm. He picked up his phone again and dialed his head of security. He knew Penelope had secrets, and it was time to bring them to light.
