Across the aisle sat Sarah, the elegant, dark-haired stepmother clad in a sharp black pantsuit, looking entirely detached from the tragedy. Beside her was Michael, her high-powered attorney in a navy blue suit, wearing a smug, victorious smile. They were moments away from securing a conviction for the murder of Richard, the family patriarch.

Suddenly, the heavy double doors of the courtroom burst open. The loud bang echoed off the high ceilings, drawing gasps from the spectators. Emily, Richard's strawberry-blonde daughter, stood in the doorway. Wearing a simple floral dress, her face was flushed, and her eyes were wild with a mix of grief and fury. She took a deep breath and shouted, "My nanny didn't kill my father!"
