The grand foyer of the Whispering Pines mansion was a masterpiece of polished white marble and glittering crystal chandeliers. To anyone passing by, it was the epitome of absolute wealth. But on this humid Tuesday afternoon, it became the stage for a cruel display of arrogance. Hannah, a quiet young woman dressed in a simple, faded blue dress, was on her knees. Her hands, red and raw from the harsh chemicals, gripped a sponge as she methodically scrubbed the wet floor.

Just a few feet away stood Charlotte. Draped in designer silk and holding a condensation-beaded cocktail glass, Charlotte watched the girl with a look of supreme amusement. To Charlotte, the world was divided into those who ruled and those who served.

The heavy oak doors swung open, and Lawrence stepped inside. The late-thirties businessman, sharp in his charcoal suit, froze. He held his leather briefcase, his eyes instantly locking onto the scene before him. He looked at Hannah on the floor, then up at his fiancée, Charlotte.

Charlotte merely chuckled, taking a slow sip of her drink.

"She's just doing what she's good at, cleaning," Charlotte said, her voice dripping with dismissive contempt.

Lawrence’s face turned an ash-gray color. The silence in the foyer became suffocating. Slowly, Lawrence pulled his phone from his pocket, dialed a number, and pressed it to his ear. When the person on the other end answered, Lawrence didn't hesitate. His voice was a whip crack in the silent room.

"Cancel everything, now!" he barked.

Charlotte’s smile vanished. She gasped, her cocktail glass trembling.

"What? Lawrence, darling, what are you talking about?" she stammered.

Lawrence looked at her with eyes colder than ice.

"This house is no longer yours," he stated flatly.

Hannah slowly stopped scrubbing, looking up from the wet floor with a mixture of apprehension and quiet relief.
