Previously: When airport custodian Marcus stopped working to save an elderly man collapsing on the floor, his ruthless manager fired him on the spot—unaware of who the old man really was.

The Billionaire's Call

Marcus stood frozen, the sting of the sudden termination burning in his chest. He had worked diligently for two years, only to be thrown out like garbage for trying to save a human life. Victoria stood over them, a triumphant, cruel smile on her face as she pocketed his ID badge. But her triumph was incredibly short-lived.

On the floor, the elderly man, Arthur, slowly sat up with Marcus’s gentle assistance. He took a sip of water from the bottle Marcus had provided, his breathing gradually stabilizing. His eyes, previously clouded with pain, suddenly flashed with a cold, sharp intelligence. He looked at Victoria, then reached into his jacket and pulled out a smartphone.

With steady fingers, Arthur dialed a number and held the phone to his ear. When he spoke, his voice carried an undeniable weight of authority.

"Cancel gate 12's lease and bring the entire board here right now,"
he commanded, hanging up before the person on the other end could even reply.

Victoria let out a mocking laugh.

"Who do you think you are, old man? You can't cancel leases here. Security will be here in a minute to escort both of you out,"
she sneered. But within ninety seconds, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the terminal. Three men in immaculate, expensive suits came running down the concourse, out of breath and pale with fear. Leading them was the Chief Executive Officer of the airport authority. Victoria’s smug smile instantly withered as the CEO bypassed her completely, bowing respectfully to the elderly man in the leather jacket.
"Mr. Sterling, we are so incredibly sorry. What has happened?"
the CEO stammered, his forehead beaded with sweat.
