The Greedy Fiancée Forced My Mother to Polish Her Shoes, Then the Attorney Arrived
Previously: When Victoria forced her future mother-in-law to polish her shoes, she thought she owned the mansion. But a sudden arrival with legal documents shattered her greedy dreams forever.
The Price of Greed
Julian took a deep breath, stepping away from Victoria. The love he had felt for her was replaced by a profound sense of disgust.
"There isn't going to be a wedding, Victoria," Julian said, his voice firm and steady. "My father was a wise man. He saw through people like you, even from the grave."
Victoria gasped, reaching for his arm.
"Julian, baby, please! I was just joking with Helen! We were just playing around, weren't we, Helen?" she pleaded, turning her desperate eyes to the older woman.
Helen looked at Victoria, her expression calm and devoid of anger.
"A queen does not need to demand respect, Victoria," Helen said softly. "She earns it through kindness. You have none."
Thomas stepped between Victoria and the family.
"As the sole owner of this estate, Helen has instructed me to ask you to leave the premises immediately," the attorney said, gesturing toward the front door. "Any personal items you left here will be couriered to your apartment tomorrow."
With no cards left to play, Victoria let out a frustrated shriek, grabbed her designer handbag, and stormed out of the house, her high heels clicking loudly against the hardwood floor until the heavy front door slammed shut behind her.
The silence that followed was peaceful. Julian walked over to his mother and pulled her into a tight embrace.
"I'm so sorry, Mom," he whispered, tears in his eyes. "I almost let her ruin everything."
Helen smiled, hugging her son back.
"You're safe now, Julian. That's all that matters," she said.
True wealth is never measured by the size of a mansion, but by the integrity of the hearts that dwell within it.
