The silence in the ballroom was deafening as Eleanor’s words hung in the air. Christian’s face drained of color, his gaze darting nervously toward the high ceilings. Victoria immediately stepped forward, her expensive diamond necklace catching the light as she tried to salvage the situation.

"This is absurd!" Victoria hissed, her voice tight. "We don't need to involve security in a simple family matter. The child was in the bridal suite, Eleanor. The ring is gone. It is obvious what happened here."

But Eleanor was already pulling out her phone, dialing the building's head of security, whom she happened to know personally through her corporate catering business. Within minutes, a stern-faced security guard entered the ballroom, carrying a tablet. Christian tried to intercept him, his voice rising in panic as he tried to assert his authority as the groom of the evening.

The guard ignored Christian, walking straight to Eleanor. "We have the live feed queued up, ma'am," he said, handing her the tablet. Eleanor didn't hesitate. She pressed play, turning the screen so that the remaining wedding guests, who had gathered in a curious circle, could see it clearly.

The footage did not show Grace stealing anything. Instead, it showed Grace wandering down the hallway, looking for the bathroom. Suddenly, the door to the bridal suite opened. But it wasn't Grace who slipped inside. The camera clearly captured Victoria, the groom's mother, entering the room. Seconds later, Victoria emerged, slipping a small velvet box into her own designer handbag. The footage then cut to Christian cornering Grace, screaming at her, and violently shoving her aside when she tried to run away in fear, causing her to fall against the sharp edge of the registry desk.
