Previously: When wealthy George returned home to find his glamorous wife Penelope humiliating a humble housemaid, he made a phone call that stripped her of everything. He knew a secret she didn't.

The Secret Behind the Deed

Penelope’s face paled as George’s words echoed through the cavernous foyer. She set her wine glass down on a console table with a sharp clink, trying to regain her composure. She forced a nervous laugh, stepping toward her husband.

"George, darling, stop playing. What is this ridiculous joke? You can't just cancel our lives. We have the charity gala next week, and I've already ordered the catering!"

George didn't flinch. He tossed his briefcase onto the marble floor, where it slid and stopped near Ella’s bucket. He looked at his wife, his voice dripping with absolute disgust.

"It’s not a joke, Penelope. The credit cards are frozen. The trust funds are locked. And the title of this very estate is being transferred as we speak. You see, you’ve spent the last three months treating this young woman like garbage, completely unaware of who she actually is."

Penelope scoffed, glaring down at Ella, who was now standing up, wiping her wet hands on her apron. Ella looked just as bewildered as Penelope, her eyes darting between the married couple.

"Who she is? She’s an agency maid! A nobody I hired off the street to keep this place presentable!"

George took a step closer to Ella, his eyes softening with deep respect. He turned back to Penelope, his voice ringing with authority.

"She is Ella Vance. Does that name mean nothing to you? Her father, Arthur Vance, was the man who founded Vance Enterprises—the very company that funded my first startup. He was the mentor who saved me from ruin when I had nothing. When Arthur passed away last year, his corrupt board members stripped Ella of her inheritance and left her homeless. I have spent months searching for her to repay my debt to her father."

Penelope stared, her mouth slightly open. George continued, his gaze narrowing.

"And while I was searching, you hired her through a cheap agency, forced her to scrub floors, and humiliated her daily. Today, I finalized the legal battle. All of my assets, including this house, have been transferred to the Vance Trust. Ella is the owner of everything we possess."

Ella is the owner of everything we possess."
