Previously: When a ragged young stranger entered Philip's luxury Seattle penthouse claiming he could heal his paralyzed legs in seconds, everyone laughed. But as the countdown began, a shocking truth came to light.

A Bitter Healing

Sophia stumbled backward, her hand flying to her mouth. She tried to deny it, but her guilt was written all over her face.

"He's lying, Philip! He's a homeless lunatic trying to extort us!" she cried.
But Logan reached into his ragged coat and pulled out a small, sealed vial and a digital tablet. He tossed them onto the table.

"That's the toxin I recovered from your private medical supply, and those are the schematics of your wheelchair, modified by a technician Sophia paid millions of dollars," Logan explained. "She needed you alive but helpless so she could gradually siphon your fortune into her offshore accounts. When I found out five years ago, she had me ruined, my medical license revoked, and my life destroyed."

Philip looked down at his legs. With a supreme effort of will, fueled by a mixture of adrenaline and raw fury, he gripped the armrests of his wheelchair. He pushed himself upward. His knees shook, and his muscles screamed in protest after years of chemically induced atrophy, but he stood. For the first time in half a decade, Philip stood on his own two feet.

He looked at Sophia, his eyes cold as ice.

"Get out," he said, his voice quiet but carrying the weight of a death sentence. "The police are already on their way. I will make sure you spend the rest of your life in a cell."
Sophia collapsed to her knees, sobbing, but the guards quickly escorted her out of the penthouse.

Philip then turned to Logan, tears streaming down his face.

"You saved my life, and I destroyed yours by not believing you back then. A million dollars is not enough. I will restore your medical license, clear your name, and make you the head of my new medical foundation."

Logan offered a weary but genuine smile, feeling the heavy burden of the past five years finally lift from his shoulders.

"Thank you, sir. I just wanted my life back," Logan said.
