Previously: When homeless Leo gave his only coat to a freezing elderly woman named Martha under a snowy overpass, he had no idea her wealthy son Thomas was searching for herβ€”or how it would change his life.

A Life-Changing Encounter

Thomas immediately ordered his men to gently carry Martha to the heated SUV. As they wrapped her in a thick, insulated blanket, Thomas turned his attention to the shivering young man left standing in the freezing cold, wearing nothing but a thin, worn-out t-shirt. He saw the purple tint on Leo's lips and the fierce determination in his eyes.

"You stayed with her,"
Thomas said, his voice thick with emotion.
"You gave her your only coat. Who are you?"

Leo rubbed his arms, trying to stop the violent shaking.

"My name is Leo Vance,"
he whispered.
"I found her wandering near the tracks hours ago. She was confused, crying for her son. I couldn't just leave her to freeze."

Upon hearing the name 'Vance,' Thomas froze, his eyes widening in complete disbelief. He stared at the young man’s face, tracing the familiar structure of his jaw and the deep warmth in his eyes.

"Vance? By any chance, was your father Arthur Vance, the master mechanic who used to work at the old transit depot?"
Thomas asked, his voice barely a whisper.

Leo nodded slowly, confused by the sudden question.

"Yes, that was my dad. He passed away three years ago after a long illness, and we lost everything trying to pay his medical bills. That's how I ended up out here."

Thomas let out a shaky breath, burying his face in his hands for a brief moment before looking back up at Leo with a mixture of awe and profound grief.

"Your father saved my life twenty years ago,"
Thomas revealed, his voice trembling.
"I was trapped in a burning vehicle after a horrible crash, and Arthur pulled me out just seconds before it exploded. I spent years trying to track him down to repay him, but by the time I had the resources, he had vanished from the records. I never knew he had a son, let alone that you were suffering like this."
