Ten minutes earlier, Chelsea had been standing near the bar, trying to maintain her dignity. She had only attended the wedding because of a legal ultimatum. Her late mother’s trust fund, which was supposed to be split equally between the sisters, had been completely drained. Chelsea’s father, who had always favored Emily, had illegally signed over the entire sum to fund this multi-million-dollar wedding and David’s new real estate venture. Chelsea had arrived with her lawyer’s official demand letters, hoping to settle the matter quietly.

Instead, Emily had cornered her near the dance floor.

"You think you can ruin my day with your pathetic jealousy?"

Emily had hissed, her breath smelling of expensive champagne.

"Look around, Chelsea. Everything here was bought with your inheritance, and David is mine now. You are nothing."

Before Chelsea could respond, Emily had deliberately tripped her, sending her crashing to the floor in her emerald gown. David had immediately jumped in, turning the assault into a "playful dance" to distract the guests and humiliate Chelsea further.

Now, as the cheers began to fade, Chelsea slowly lowered her hands. The ballroom fell into a tense, expectant silence as she stood up. She didn't brush the dust off her dress, nor did she run away crying as Emily clearly expected. Instead, she looked directly at David, then at her sister, and finally at her father, who was watching from the head table with a smug grin. Chelsea reached into the small clutch purse lying on the floor beside her. She didn't pull out a tissue. She pulled out a small, black remote control and pointed it directly at the giant projector screen behind the bridal table.
