My Husband's Obsessive Ex Attacked Me in the Hospital Hallway to Destroy Our Family
Previously: When Clara went into early labor, she thought the hospital was a safe haven. Instead, her husband's ruthless ex-wife cornered her in a sterile hallway, launching a violent attack to destroy Clara's miracle baby.
The Poison in the Envelope
Chaos erupted in the wing as orderlies and security guards flooded the hallway. Nurse Sarah and a team of doctors quickly wheeled a sobbing Clara into an emergency treatment room, leaving Mark standing in the corridor. His hands shook, covered in the dust from the hospital floor. Security guards pinned Vanessa against the wall, but she wasn't struggling anymore. Instead, she laughed—a bitter, mocking sound that sent shivers down Mark's spine.
"You think you're saving her, Mark?" Vanessa sneered, spitting the words out. "You're a fool. She’s been lying to you from the very beginning!"
Mark stepped closer, his eyes burning with fury.
"Get her out of here before I lose my mind," he told the guards, his voice dangerously low.
But Vanessa wasn't finished. With her hands restrained, she nodded toward her designer purse that had fallen to the floor during the scuffle.
"Look inside, Mark! Look at the papers! That brat she's carrying isn't yours. She’s been seeing her ex behind your back. I did you a favor!"
Against his better judgment, Mark picked up the purse and pulled out a folded white envelope. Inside was a printed laboratory report—a prenatal paternity test claiming a zero percent probability of his fatherhood. Mark’s heart plummeted. He knew Clara loved him, but the cold, official-looking document in his hands felt like a physical blow. Had his entire marriage been a lie?
Before he could process the betrayal, Nurse Sarah emerged from the emergency room, her expression grave.
"Mark, Clara’s placenta has partially detached from the trauma. We need to perform an emergency C-section right now. We need your consent, and we need you to be strong for her."
Mark looked at the paper in his hand, then at the operating room doors. He tore the forged document in half and threw it into the trash.
"Save my wife and my baby," he said firmly, rushing in to be by Clara's side.
