Previously: When maid Mia disrupted a wealthy family's funeral with an axe, she was called insane—until a faint whisper from inside the shattered coffin changed everything.

A Mother's Ultimate Choice

The tension in the room was suffocating. Arthur’s finger tightened on the trigger, his eyes locked onto Mia. But before he could fire, Eleanor stepped directly into his line of sight, shielding the young maid and her stepdaughter. Her black veil was thrown back, revealing a face etched with fierce determination.

"Put the gun down, Arthur,"
she commanded, her voice steady and cold.
"It’s over. I know what you did."

Arthur laughed hysterically, his hands shaking.

"You helped me, Eleanor! You wanted the inheritance just as much as I did!"

"I wanted to secure our family's future, yes,"
Eleanor whispered, tears finally escaping her eyes.
"But when I realized you were willing to murder my sweet stepdaughter, I couldn't go through with it. I'm the one who secretly diluted your poison with the antidote every night. I knew she would survive the wake. I just didn't expect Mia to be brave enough to break the coffin."

From the casket, Emma weakly reached out, grabbing her stepmother’s hand.

"Eleanor..."
she whispered, her voice filled with gratitude. Arthur stared at his wife in complete betrayal. The distraction was all the estate's security guards needed. They rushed into the parlor from behind, tackling Arthur to the ground and wrestling the gun from his grip.

Within minutes, sirens wailed in the distance. The police arrived and dragged a screaming Arthur away in handcuffs, facing charges of attempted murder and conspiracy. Emma was rushed to the hospital, where she made a full recovery. She inherited her family's estate and immediately named Mia as her primary estate administrator, ensuring the brave maid would never have to work as a servant again. True loyalty and courage cannot be bought, but they will always find a way to bring the darkest secrets into the light.
