An Impoverished Vendor is Rescued by a Wealthy CEO Who Kept Her Childhood Promise
Previously: When kind-hearted ice cream vendor Daniel gave a free treat to a little girl, he never expected that decades later, she would return as a powerful CEO to save him from ruin.
A Powerful Protector Arrives
Natalie walked slowly toward the old man, her high heels clicking sharply against the cobblestones where she had once walked as a barefoot child. Daniel looked up, quickly wiping the tears from his eyes, embarrassed to be seen in such a vulnerable state by a wealthy stranger. He tried to stand, but his knees were weak from exhaustion and grief.
"Do you remember me, Daniel?" Natalie asked, her voice softening as she looked at the man who had once shown her mercy when no one else would.
Daniel shook his head slowly, looking at her expensive suit and polished demeanor. "I'm sorry, ma'am. My mind isn't what it used to be. I've served many people over the years."
"I was the little girl in the blue dress," she said gently. "The one who promised to pay you back. My name is Natalie Grace."
Before Daniel could process this staggering revelation, a harsh voice shattered the tender moment. Mr. Sterling, the greedy real estate developer who had been trying to clear the park for high-end boutiques, marched over with two heavy-set security guards.
"Get this junk out of here!" Sterling barked, gesturing rudely at Daniel’s historic cart. "Your lease is terminated, your debts are defaulted, and we are seizing this equipment immediately."
Daniel trembled, stepping in front of his cart. "Please, Mr. Sterling, this cart is all I have left. Just give me a few days to find a place to store it!"
Sterling sneered, waving his guards forward. But before they could take a step, Natalie stood firmly between them and the cart. Her presence was commanding, her eyes flashing with a dangerous intensity.
"Touch that cart, and I will dismantle your entire enterprise before the sun sets," Natalie warned, her voice dripping with icy authority.
Sterling let out a mocking laugh, looking her up and down. "And who do you think you are, lady? You can't stop a legal eviction."
Natalie calmly reached into her pocket, pulled out a gold-embossed business card, and held it out. Sterling snatched it, his arrogant smile fading instantly as he read the name of the parent conglomerate that held his company's multi-million-dollar loans.
