The Truth Revealed and a Second Chance

Marcus Vance's gaze shifted from the security footage on his iPad to the small, silver locket in his hand, then to Amber's now-pale face. The locket contained a hospital serial number, irrefutable proof of a hidden truth. "The lobby camera shows you taking selfies while Elena risked her life to stop that cart, Amber," Marcus stated, his voice a dangerous rumble. "And this hospital serial number," he continued, holding up the locket, "proves Elena is the birth mother you paid the clinic to hide from me!" Amber's face drained of all color, her smartphone slipping from her grasp and clattering onto the marble floor. Lucas, sensing the shift in atmosphere but still clinging to Elena, refused to look at his biological mother. In the hotel atrium, bathed in the soft light filtering from above, Marcus gently placed his navy suit jacket around Elena's bruised shoulder. Lucas, now calm and smiling in her arms, looked up at her. "Cancel Amber's black card and escort her off my property forever," Marcus commanded his head of security, his voice icy. He then turned to Elena, his expression softening with gratitude and a dawning realization. "Elena, you saved our son's life today, and you're coming up to the penthouse where you belong." Elena, holding Lucas close, could only nod, tears of relief and hope welling in her eyes. The influencer's world crumbled, while a humble maid found her rightful place, a testament to courage and a mother's love.
