Arthur stammered, trying to find words to apologize, but Mark simply waved him off. The arrogant manager looked smaller than ever as he retreated to his back office, his hands shaking. Mark then turned to Sarah, his expression softening completely.

"I am so sorry you had to go through that,"

he said.

"But please, tell me. How did you get Lily to speak? We have tried every therapist in the state."

"Lily..."

Sarah whispered, her eyes tearing up.

"Three years ago, I was working as a volunteer aide at the children's hospital. I remember you. You were so scared after the accident. I used to sit by your bed and tell you that we would get through it together."

Lily nodded vigorously, a tear rolling down her cheek.

"I remembered your voice,"

the little girl said, her speech becoming clearer.

"You were the nurse who held my hand when I couldn't open my eyes. I knew I was safe when I heard you today."

Mark was stunned. He had spent years looking for the mysterious volunteer nurse who had comforted his daughter during her darkest hours, only to find her working in a local diner, being mistreated by a cruel boss. Fate had brought them together again.

"Sarah, your days of waiting tables for people like Arthur are over,"

Mark said, smiling warmly.

"I want to hire you as the head director of our new children's foundation. And as for this diner? I'm buying it tomorrow. We are going to turn it into a community center for children with special needs, and I want you to run it."
