The Millionaire Who Bought A Five-Star Restaurant Just To Save His Savior
Previously: Decades after a starving boy was saved by a stranger's kindness, he returns as a powerful billionaire to repay his debt—only to find her working for a cruel boss.
The Tyrant’s Interference
Before Lawrence could finish his sentence, the heavy oak doors of the office swung open. Richard, the arrogant and notoriously cruel owner of The Walnut Room, marched toward their table. His face was flushed with anger, his eyes darting between the billionaire and the elderly waitress. He had been watching from his surveillance cameras and assumed his employee was bothering an important client.
Without warning, Richard grabbed Florence rudely by her arm, pulling her back.
"What do you think you are doing?"he hissed.
"Florence, you are a useless, clumsy old woman. I’ve told you a hundred times not to speak to the VIP guests! You're fired. Get your things and get out!"
With a cruel flick of his wrist, Richard snatched the brass keys from Florence’s hand and threw them onto the hardwood floor, where they landed with a sharp metallic clatter. Florence gasped, her face turning pale as she began to sob silently, terrified of losing the meager income that kept her from the streets.
Lawrence felt a cold, dangerous rage wash over him. He stepped forward, placing himself directly between the trembling woman and her abusive boss.
"Take your hands off her,"Lawrence said, his voice dropping to a deadly whisper.
Richard laughed nervously, trying to maintain his bravado.
"And who do you think you are? This is my restaurant, and I can fire whoever I want. She is nothing but a worthless servant."
Lawrence didn't argue. Instead, he pulled out his phone and dialed a direct number.
"Marcus," he said to his lead corporate attorney. "I want you to buy the building, the brand, and the entire business of The Walnut Room. Offer whatever they want, but do it in the next five minutes."
Richard stared at him, scoffing.
"You're insane. You can't just buy a multi-million dollar establishment on a whim!"But within minutes, Richard's personal phone began to ring. When he answered, the voice of his head investor made his face turn completely white.
