Previously: Decades after a starving boy was saved by a stranger's kindness, he returns as a powerful billionaire to repay his debt—only to find her working for a cruel boss.

A Debt Repaid

Richard’s hands began to shake violently as he listened to his investor explain that the restaurant’s debt had just been bought out, and the entire property had been transferred to an anonymous buyer. Richard slowly lowered his phone, looking at Lawrence with absolute terror.

"You... you bought us out?"
he stammered, his voice cracking.

Lawrence looked at him with cold disdain.

"Actually, I bought it for her. And as the new owner, her first order of business is to show you the door. You are dismissed, Richard. Get out of our sight."

The arrogant manager had no choice but to pack his things and leave in utter humiliation, watched by the entire dining room. Once he was gone, Lawrence picked up the brass keys from the floor. He turned back to Florence, who was staring at him in complete shock, unable to comprehend the miracle that had just unfolded before her eyes.

He gently placed the keys back into her hands.

"Thirty years ago, you gave me the bread that kept me alive," Lawrence said softly, tears flowing freely now. "Today, I am giving you this restaurant. You will never have to worry about surviving ever again. It is yours, Florence."

Florence wept tears of profound joy, holding Lawrence's hands as if he were the boy she had saved so long ago. She realized that the tiny seed of kindness she had planted in a dark, rainy alleyway had grown into a forest of hope. In a world where ruthlessness often seems to win, a single act of selfless compassion has the power to echo through a lifetime, returning to save us when we least expect it.
