The elegant kitchen of Justin’s upscale home was filled with the warm glow of pendant lights, but the atmosphere inside was freezing. In the background, the laughter of wealthy party guests mingled with the soft clinking of champagne glasses. But in the center of the kitchen stood Chloe, a twenty-three-year-old with long black hair, her face wet with tears. She wore a bright red apron over her beautiful dress, her hands trembling as she stood before a sink full of dirty dishes.

Suddenly, the glass door slid open. Justin, handsome in his tan suit jacket, stepped in from the living room. His brow furrowed in immediate concern and anger. "What's going on here?" he demanded, his voice cutting through the ambient noise of the party.

Standing nearby was Eleanor, Justin’s mother. Dressed in an expensive purple silk dress, she scoffed dismissively, waving a manicured hand.

"Don't be so dramatic, Justin,"

she said, her voice dripping with condescension.

"She just wanted to feel useful. After all, someone has to clean up."

Justin ignored his mother, stepping quickly to Chloe’s side. He gently reached behind her back, sliding off the red apron. He looked deep into her tear-filled eyes.

"Look at me, Chloe,"

he pleaded softly.

"Did you really want to wash dishes during our engagement party?"

Chloe looked up, sobbing openly.

"No,"

she whispered, her voice cracking.

"She told me that my place was in the kitchen because I'm just the mother of your daughter, not a real part of this family."

Fury flashed in Justin's eyes. He turned slowly, pointing a trembling finger directly at his mother.

"My party is over. Get out of my house,"

he commanded, his voice cold as ice. Eleanor gasped in disbelief, but Justin didn't care. He wrapped his arms around Chloe, pulling her into a protective, comforting hug as his mother stood frozen in shock.
