Previously: When George’s snobbish fiancée, Charlotte, forced a quiet girl in a blue dress to scrub the floors, she thought she was just bullying a maid. She had no idea who she was actually insulting.

The Frame-Up

The silence in the marble hall was deafening. Charlotte’s face fell into complete disbelief, the color draining from her cheeks as the weight of George’s words sank in. The deed in the leather case was supposed to be signed tonight, cementing her status as the mistress of one of the city's most prestigious estates. Now, in a single breath, it was gone.

"George, sweetheart, you're overreacting," Charlotte pleaded, taking a step toward him, her high heels clicking nervously. "It was just a joke. She was clumsy and spilled my drink. I was just... teaching her some basic manners."

Natalie shrank back, her knuckles white as she gripped the wet cloth. "I'm sorry, George," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I didn't mean to cause trouble."

George stepped between them, his towering frame shielding his sister from Charlotte's gaze. "She is not the staff, Charlotte. She is my sister. And you just showed me exactly who you are."

Realizing that tears and excuses would not work, Charlotte’s demeanor shifted. The desperation in her eyes turned into a sharp, calculating malice. If she was going down, she was going to drag Natalie down with her. She reached into her designer purse, pulled out a heavy diamond ring, and threw it onto the wet floor right next to Natalie's knees.

"She stole it!" Charlotte screamed, her voice echoing off the high columns. "She took my engagement ring right off the vanity! I caught her red-handed!"

Natalie gasped, staring at the glittering ring in horror. "No! I didn't touch it! I swear!"

Before George could intervene, Charlotte whipped out her own phone, her fingers flying across the screen. She dialed emergency services, her eyes fixed on George with a triumphant glare.

"Yes, police? I need an officer at the marble estate immediately," Charlotte lied smoothly into the receiver. "A maid has just stolen an extremely valuable diamond ring, and she's refusing to return it."
