Previously: When George’s snobbish fiancée, Charlotte, forced a quiet girl in a blue dress to scrub the floors, she thought she was just bullying a maid. She had no idea who she was actually insulting.

A Sweet Justice

Within minutes, the flashing red and blue lights of police cruisers illuminated the towering columns of the estate. Two officers hurried inside, their eyes darting between the furious billionaire, the crying girl on the floor, and Charlotte, who immediately put on an Oscar-worthy performance of a victimized socialite.

"Officers, thank goodness you're here," Charlotte sobbed, pointing a manicured finger at Natalie. "That girl stole my ring. It's right there on the floor where she dropped it when she got caught!"

The officers looked at George, recognizing him instantly. "Mr. Vance, how do you wish to proceed?" one of them asked respectfully.

George smiled, but there was no warmth in it. He walked over to the grand marble pillars, pointing up toward a small, nearly invisible black dome nestled in the ornate molding. "I built this house with state-of-the-art security, Charlotte. Every single corner of this hall is recorded in high-definition video, with audio."

Charlotte froze, her fake tears drying up instantly. George pulled out his phone, tapped the screen a few times, and handed it to the lead officer. The recording played clearly: Charlotte intentionally spilling her own champagne, demanding Natalie clean it, and then throwing the ring onto the floor to frame her.

The officer's face hardened. He turned to Charlotte and pulled handcuffs from his belt. "Ma'am, please put your hands behind your back. You are under arrest for filing a false police report and attempted extortion."

As Charlotte was led away screaming, her dreams of wealth shattered, George knelt down on the marble floor. He took Natalie’s hands, lifting her up gently, and handed the leather case to her.

"This house was never meant for her, Natalie," George said softly, his voice filled with emotion. "It’s yours. Welcome home, sister."

Natalie wept, but this time, they were tears of pure joy, knowing she was finally safe, protected, and cherished by the only family she had left.
