Previously: When Nathan's powerful boss interrupted his wedding, Nathan expected a work emergency. Instead, a shocking family secret was exposed right at the altar, changing their lives forever.

A Web of Deceit and Power

The silence in the church was deafening. Robert stopped dead in his tracks, his commanding posture suddenly rigid as he locked eyes with Nathan. For a moment, the powerful CEO looked entirely disoriented. He looked at his daughter, then at his star project manager, the pieces of a puzzle he didn't know existed falling into place.

"Nathan?" Robert’s voice dropped to a dangerous whisper. "What is the meaning of this? Why are you standing at the altar with my daughter?"

Amelia stepped forward, her voice shaking but filled with defiance. She gripped Nathan's hand tightly. She explained that she had dropped her father's famous last name, Vance, years ago, adopting her mother's maiden name to distance herself from his corporate empire. She had kept her lineage a secret from Nathan because she wanted to be loved for who she was, not her father's wealth. Furthermore, she knew how much Nathan feared and respected his boss; she didn't want their relationship tainted by corporate politics.

But Robert’s expression hardened. A lifetime of business deals had made him deeply cynical. He stepped closer to the altar, his eyes boring into Nathan with absolute contempt.

"You planned this, didn't you, Nathan?" Robert sneered. "You found out who she was, targeted her, and used her to secure your future at my company. You're a gold-digger in a cheap tuxedo."

Amelia cried out, defending Nathan, but Robert raised a hand to silence her. He turned his full wrath back onto the young groom. Robert gave Nathan a chilling ultimatum: walk away from the wedding immediately, or face complete professional ruin. Robert promised to blackball him from every major firm in the country by sunset.
