My Ex-Husband Threw Me Out Pregnant, But He Forgot Who My Father Was
Previously: When Richard threw his pregnant ex-wife Olivia onto the driveway to please his new lover, he thought he won. But a single phone call to her father changed everything.
The Arrival of the Real Power
The heavy doors of the lead SUV swung open, and out stepped Arthur Vance. At sixty-two, Arthur carried himself with the quiet, terrifying authority of a man who built empires in silence. Behind him, four of the state's most formidable corporate attorneys stepped out, clutching thick leather briefcases. Richard’s smug smile instantly withered, replaced by a pale mask of dread. He knew exactly who Arthur was, even though Olivia had always insisted on living a simple life away from her family's immense wealth.
"Arthur," Richard stammered, stepping down a single stair while Sarah shrank behind him. "This is a private marital matter. Olivia refused to sign the mediation papers, so I had to take measures."
Arthur didn't even look at Richard. He walked straight to his daughter, gently helping her up from the gravel and wrapping his cashmere coat around her trembling shoulders. "Are you hurt, sweetheart?" he asked softly. Olivia shook her head, tears of relief finally replacing her tears of despair. "Good," Arthur murmured. He turned his cold, gray eyes toward Richard.
The lead attorney, a ruthless man named Marcus, stepped forward and opened a folder. "Mr. Croft, as of forty-five minutes ago, the Vance Family Trust has executed its foreclosure option on this property. Furthermore, we have initiated an emergency freeze on all corporate assets of Croft Holdings."
"You can't do that!" Sarah shrieked from the top of the steps. "Richard owns this estate!"
Marcus offered a chilling, professional smile. "Actually, Ms. Miller, Mr. Croft’s company was funded entirely by a silent capital injection from the Vance Trust. The contract explicitly states that any act of moral turpitude or unilateral divorce proceedings against a Vance heir nullifies the funding, reverting all physical assets—including this mansion—back to the trust. You have exactly one hour to vacate the premises."
