Previously: When Richard threw his pregnant ex-wife Olivia onto the driveway to please his new lover, he thought he won. But a single phone call to her father changed everything.

A Price Too High to Pay

The reality of his ruin crashed down on Richard like a physical blow. He looked at the attorneys, then at the security guards who were now looking at Arthur for orders, completely ignoring Richard. His entire empire—the cars, the business, the social status he had bragged about—was built on a foundation of Vance money. By throwing Olivia out, he had pulled the trigger on his own financial execution.

"Olivia, please," Richard begged, scrambling down the stone steps and throwing himself at her feet, heedless of the gravel. "I was confused. Sarah manipulated me! We're having a baby, Olivia. Think of our family!"

Sarah’s eyes widened in horror. "What did you just say?" she yelled, realizing instantly that Richard was a coward who would discard her just as quickly to save his skin. Seeing the writing on the wall, she grabbed her designer purse and ran toward the gates, desperate to escape the impending wreckage.

Olivia looked down at the man she once thought she would spend her life with. The love she had felt for him was entirely gone, replaced by a calm, profound clarity. She placed a protective hand over her pregnant belly.

"My father brought the legal, Richard," Olivia said, her voice steady and resolute. "But I brought the strength to finally see you for what you are. You didn't just lose this house today. You lost any right to ever see our child."

Arthur nodded to his security detail. "Escort Mr. Croft to the gate. He may leave with only the clothes on his back." As Richard was dragged away, sobbing and pleading, Olivia looked up at the grand neoclassical mansion. It was no longer a symbol of her oppression, but the starting point of her brand-new life. True power doesn't lie in grand walls or stolen wealth, but in the fierce, unbreakable love of a family that stands together in the storm.
