Previously: After a tragic accident left Clara paralyzed, her wealthy father shielded her from the world. But when a mysterious young stranger arrived with a metal tub and a silver medallion, a long-buried family secret shattered their lives forever.

A Dark Family Secret Unveiled

Richard stared at the silver medallion in Toby's dirty hand, his face draining of all color. The medallion bore a unique crest of a rising phoenix—a symbol Richard had hoped he would never see again. The wealthy patriarch stumbled backward, his polished leather shoes slipping slightly on the loose gravel.

"Where did you get that?" Richard whispered, his voice suddenly hollow and stripped of its authority. "Who are you?"

Toby stood up slowly, his eyes locked onto the man who had abandoned his mother decades ago. "My name is Toby. My mother is Evelyn. She is currently fighting for her life in a run-down clinic just miles from here. She kept this medallion to remind herself of the man who promised her the world, only to pay her to disappear when she became pregnant with his child."

Clara gasped, looking between her father and the young stranger. Her father had always told her that her mother had died in childbirth, portraying himself as a tragic, devoted widower. But the truth was far uglier. Richard had banished his first love, Evelyn, to preserve his family's high-society reputation, completely unaware that she carried his son.

"This is a lie! A cheap extortion plot!" Richard screamed, his panic turning back into defensive rage. He pulled out his phone, his fingers trembling as he dialed security. "I want this trespasser off my property immediately!"

Within moments, two burly estate guards rushed down the path. They grabbed Toby, pinning his arms behind his back. In the struggle, the silver medallion slipped from Toby's fingers, clattering onto the gravel. Toby didn't fight back; instead, he looked at Clara with desperate eyes.

"The treatment in that tub... our mother spent her life perfecting it for you, Clara! I only came to heal my sister!" Toby shouted as the guards began to drag him away.

Clara tried to take a step forward to stop them, but her weak legs buckled, and she fell heavily onto the gravel, her hands scraping against the sharp stones as she reached for the fallen medallion.
