Previously: When Luke's father passed away, he left behind nothing but a dusty red bandana and a cryptic final message that led his grieving son straight into the path of a deadly beast.

A Father's Hidden Truth

The silence in the arena was absolute. No one had ever seen Ranger, the most aggressive bull in the state, act with such gentle reverence. Walt pushed past the security guards, his face flushed with a mixture of rage and terror. He scrambled down from the stands and stormed into the dirt ring, his boots kicking up clouds of dust.

"Get away from that beast, Luke!"
Walt bellowed, his voice shaking.
"He's my property now, and you're trespassing!"

But as Walt stepped closer, Ranger let out a low, rumbling warning growl, placing his massive body protectively between Luke and the older man. Walt froze in his tracks, his eyes darting from the bull to the red bandana in Luke's hands. He knew what that bandana meant. It had belonged to Thomas, Luke's late father and Walt's former business partner.

In his panic, Walt reached into his heavy leather jacket, intending to pull his phone to call the authorities. But as he pulled his hand out, a folded piece of parchment slipped from his pocket and fluttered onto the dusty ground. Luke, noticing the official state seal on the paper, lunged forward and scooped it up before Walt could react.

As Luke unfolded the document, his heart skipped a beat. It was his father's original, notarized will—the real one that Walt claimed had never existed. The paper clearly stated that the entire ranch, along with Ranger, belonged solely to Luke. The documents Walt had used to evict Luke just days after the funeral were complete forgeries.

"You stole everything from us,"
Luke whispered, the realization hitting him like a physical blow. Walt's face darkened, and he slowly reached toward his belt where his truck keys—and his loaded pistol—were kept, realizing his entire empire was about to crumble.
