"We need to get him to pediatrics, now! Prepare an oxygen tent and start an IV!"

he yelled to the nursing staff, who immediately sprang into action, wheeled a gurney forward, and rushed the boy down the corridor.

Leo collapsed into a plastic waiting room chair, his strength entirely gone. He watched the doors close behind his grandson, feeling emptier than he ever had. But then, a warm, heavy hand rested on his shoulder. He looked up to see Marcus, his face red and swollen from crying.

"I never knew, Leo,"

Marcus whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

"I swear to you, if I had known Sarah was pregnant, if I had known my son was alive, I would have fought the entire world for him. I thought I lost everything."

Leo looked into the eyes of the man he had hated for six years, realizing they were both victims of a cruel, wealthy man's manipulation. The anger in Leo's heart melted away, replaced by a profound, shared grief.

Hours later, Dr. Julian walked out of the intensive care unit with a tired but relieved smile. The fever had broken, and Michael was resting comfortably, his breathing steady. Marcus and Leo entered the room together, hand in hand, sitting on either side of the small hospital bed.
