My Son's Arrogant Fiancée Demanded I Polish Her Shoes, then My Lawyer Arrived
Previously: When Victoria forced her future mother-in-law to polish her shoes, she thought she owned the mansion. But a surprise visit from a family lawyer revealed a secret that changed everything.
The Hidden Clause
The silence in the elegant living room was deafening. Victoria slowly lowered her foot, her eyes darting between Thomas and the official legal documents in his hand.
"What did you just say?"
she whispered, her voice losing its haughty, confident edge. Thomas stepped closer, slipping a pair of reading glasses onto his nose as he opened the folder.
"I said, Victoria, that this entire estate belongs solely to Helen,"
Thomas repeated clearly, gesturing to the papers.
"The moment you signed the engagement contract with Julian, a pre-existing trust created by Julian’s late father was officially triggered. The mansion, the grounds, and the family assets were transferred immediately into Helen's name alone."
Julian stepped forward, his face pale with realization.
"Thomas, is this true? Dad did that?"
Thomas nodded slowly. "Your father, Arthur, knew how much this house meant to your mother. He also knew that future relationships could complicate things, and he wanted to ensure Helen would never be cast out of her own home by anyone who sought to take advantage of the family wealth." Victoria’s face flushed with a mixture of anger and panic. She turned to Julian, her eyes wide with desperation.
"Julian! Do something! This is absolutely ridiculous! We are getting married next month. This house was supposed to be our future home, our start!"
Helen slowly stood up from the floor, brushing the dust off her white dress. For the first time in months, the fear in her eyes was replaced by a quiet, steady resolve. Victoria began to pace, waving her hands wildly.
"There must be a mistake. I am marrying into this family. I won't live under her rules!"
