My Wife Made My Lost Sister Scrub Floors, Until I Discovered Her Secret
Previously: When Harold returned home to find a young woman kneeling on his marble floor, he expected a new maid. But one look at her face changed everything, exposing his wife’s dark secret.
The Secret in the Mansion
Vivian’s face contorted in disbelief as she tried to laugh off Harold’s words. "Harold, you're being ridiculous," she stammered, stepping toward him. "She's just a maid. Why are you acting like this over some lazy girl?"
But Harold didn't move. He dropped his briefcase to the floor, the heavy thud echoing through the vast room. He walked past Vivian, completely ignoring her, and knelt down on the wet marble directly in front of Mia.
To Vivian's absolute horror, Harold took Mia's soapy, trembling hands into his own. "Mia," he whispered, his voice cracking with emotion. "Is it really you?"
Mia could only nod, tears streaming down her dusty cheeks.
"I'm sorry, Harold,"she sobbed.
"She told me if I ever spoke to you, she would make sure you lost everything."
The truth hit Harold like a physical blow. For five long years, Harold had been searching for his younger sister, Mia, who had vanished shortly after their parents' tragic passing. He had hired private investigators, spent millions of dollars, and poured his heart out to Vivian, who always offered a sympathetic shoulder.
Now, the horrifying reality set in. Vivian hadn't been helping him find his sister. She had found Mia first. Knowing that Mia was the sole trustee of their late parents' massive estate—an estate Harold was currently managing but did not technically own—Vivian had locked Mia away. She had threatened the young, vulnerable girl, stripped her of her identity, and forced her to work as a cloistered maid in the very mansion Mia legally owned.
Harold stood up, his face pale with rage. He turned to Vivian, who was backing away, her champagne glass finally slipping from her hand and shattering on the marble.
"You knew,"
Harold whispered, the realization cutting deep.
"You knew who she was this entire time. You kept my sister as a servant in my own home."
Vivian stammered, trying to find a lie to save herself. "Harold, please, she's unstable! I was protecting you! She would have ruined your business!"
”She would have ruined your business!"
